Annuals  |  Perennials
These are the plants that simply would not flourish in the shade in the rest of my garden. The one place in my yard that has sun most of the day is my deck, and there my sun-loving annuals and tender perennials live out their summers, basking in the solar rays and blooming continuously from the end of April until sometime in November. Here are my pelargoniums, nasturtiums, verbena and lobelia, salvia, brugmansia, and nemesia. These are the plants I can gaze at every day from my kitchen window, and watch the butterflies and hummingbirds flit among them undisturbed.
